This project was a FIRST of.... EVERYTHING! It was 2001. At that time we didn't have the equipment that we have today. I had called Sony and asked them how to take the camera I was using, the Sony VX2000, Professional Camcorder and modify it to become more of a Cinematic Camera. We filmed it in 8 months. It took a year to edit this and on December 2003 I Premiered it at the Tribeca Grand Hotel. Below the Hotel there are Professional Screening Rooms, with a 25 foot Movie Screen. The feeling that night was unlike anything I ever experienced. Today things are available to people everywhere. There is so many ways to market your material. 23 years ago there was only one, and that night felt like I was on top of the world. A beautiful, unimaginable feeling that will NEVER GO AWAY.
It was the beginning of my Career. I started as a writer, but I was being driven by a force unimagined that would put me in front of the Camera, Produce, Direct, Act and even Edit the Production. I was determined to go as far as I could. At this time I was also writing for HBO's The Sopranos. I have to say, being apart of something so big motivated me more, Inspired me to go further and take direction. With little resources that I had, I saw this as a Hollywood Feature. I wanted it to appear as close to 16mm Film. It was the beginning to a love story that found it way to me.
Hollywood to me, is a LOVE that will always capture my HEART.
